Cape May

Cape May is the southernmost town on the New Jersey coast. It is well-known as a year round resort area.

This large rock groin has successfully trapped sand on one side of the beach. However, its affect on littoral drift has resulted in the formation of a crescent shaped coast. The pictures below show significant accretion on one side of the groin and rapid erosion on the other side.
