Zion National Park
Temple of Sinawava

37 17' 04 N
112 56' 52 W

The Navajo Formation, the most prominent formation in the park, reaches its greatest thickness at the Temple of Sinawawa, 2,400 feet.

Two-thousand foot-high perpendicular cliffs surround the monstrous Temple of Sinawawa. The closeness and incredible height of the cliffs give the area the feeling of being completely enclosed.

The bottom left pictures show the Pulpit, a 150-foot column shaped and molded from years of erosion.

The Temple of Sinawawa is a great place to observe a variety of bird species, such as the Jake turkey pictured below.
