In this activity, you are going to explore some of the the key physical features of the Appalachian Mountains. You will explore how the physical features make one province different from another.

Answer the questions below in complete sentences.

1.   In what geologic province(s) of Pennsylvania is the Lehigh Gorge located?
2.   What are the characteristic features of the bedrock in this region of Pennsylvania?
3.   How is this province different from the Coastal Plain Province?
