Poplar Gap (Dcpg)

Description
The Poplar Gap Member of the Catskill Formation (Dcpg) is a dominantly medium grained sandstone and conglomerate. The conglomerate in the Poplar Gap Member is known to contain a number of white quartz pebbles.


The pebbles are rounded to subrounded and are variable in size. These pebbles typically range in size from .5 - 1.5 centimeters in diameter. The pebbles are usually found in a grayish-white sandy matrix.
