Mud Run

Mud Run is a small tributary of the Lehigh River approximately 2.2 miles north of the Rockport access point. The stream flows east to west along the contact between the Mauch Chunk and Pocono Formations. The contact is visible along the stream. On the Gorge Trail side of the river, the contact is situated in a small valley. Visible outcrops of red Mauch Chunk sandstone are intermixed with gray Pocono sandstone.
