This interactive map contains map-like views of America's natural and sociocultural landscapes.

EPA EnviroMapper
Interactive maps from EPA show the location of regulated facilities, monitoring sites, water bodies, population density, perspective topographic views and other EPA data with hotlinks to state/federal information about these items of interest.

Pennsylvania DEP GIS
This site contains mapping applications that provides users with an easy to use tool for locating their neighborhood and obtaining information about their environment.

Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve GIS
This site contains an interactive mapping application for Jacques Cousteau National Estuarine Research Reserve region.

New Jersey’s DEP Interactive Mapping GIS
This site contains interactive mapping applications for environmental mapping tools and NJ geology.

Geography Network
The Geography Network is a "global network that provides the infrastructure needed to facilitate the sharing of geographic information between data providers, service providers, and users around the world." The site allows access to a wide variety of geographic materials, including basic maps as well as more sophisticated map data intended for use with GIS software. A tool called the Geography Network Explorer allows users to browse the maps and data by publisher or content, or to search the collection by location, type of content, and/or data theme.

National Geographic Map Machine
National Geographic's online atlas. Find nearly any place on Earth, and view it by population, climate, topography, and much more.

Better Assessment Science Integrating Point and Nonpoint Sources (BASINS)
This site integrates a GIS, national watershed data, and state-of-the-art environmental assessment and modeling tools into one convenient package.

GIS Data for Water Resources
This site serves as a node of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) for finding and accessing USGS spatial data related to water resources. Water quality data sets may be browsed under HYDROLOGIC UNIT MAPS and NATIONAL HYDROGRAPHY DATA SET.

NC State's Web-Based GIS
This site provides links to interactive GIS mapping at NC State University.

GIS Environmental Education
This site is a product of a growing assemblage of people from local, state, and private sector organizations in North Carolina working together to make local and statewide environmental data more readily available and usable by teachers, students, and the general public. The consortium aims to enhance environmental education by enabling teachers and students, as well as the general public, to access North Carolina environmental data using GIS Projects, including the Upper Neuse Regional DataSystem, NC River Basins, and Acid Rain Across America.

Water on the Web (WOW) Interactive Maps
WOW provides high school and undergraduate students with an opportunity to learn science, mathematics, and technology while using near real-time and archived water quality data to monitor Minnesota lakes. This site also has interactive maps for students to study.

NCSU Sci-Link GIS in Education
This site contains instructional activities about hazardous waste issues in North Carolina.

KanGIS K-12 GIS Community
This site contains an interactive student data mapping application and provides technical and pedagogical support for teachers interested in using geotechnologies, including GIS, the Global Postioning System, and remote sensing data.
