Walnutport Canal
40 45' 05 N
75 35' 99 W

The canal and locks #22 through #25 have been restored and are maintained for tourists and historical purposes by the Walnutport Canal Association. The four and a half mile section of the towpath in Walnutport extends through most of the neighboring towns. The towpath was originally created so that mules could pull the canal boats while walking alongside the canal. The hope is to someday connect the entire old canal towpath to produce a continuous journey from Wilkes-Barre to Bristol.
