Pottsville (|Pp)

Stratigraphic Column




 

Description
Pottsville Formation (|Pp) consists of a gray conglomerate, fine to coarse grained. The Pottsville Formation is known to contain sandstone, siltstone and shale. This formation is also known to contain Anthracite coal.

The sandstone conglomerate contains large 3-5 cm angular to subrounded pebbles. These pebbles are quartzitic in a gray matrix.
