Lehigh River near Cementon

Cementon, as the name suggests, was and still is the major manufacturing town for cement in the Lehigh Valley. The vast limestone geology of the area allows for high quality cement to be produced, The Panama Canal and other landmark features have been constructed from Lehigh Valley cement.

The Northhampton Borough Municipal Authority raw water intake is located here. LaFarge Cement factory is located on the banks of the river.
